Each previous profile can be found in the News Archive section. #7 Peavey Wolfgang ST Transparent Sunburst Flame Nickname: "Serenity" Built: 1999 Acquired: March 2005 Story: Having been so impressed with Wolfgang #6, the sunburst Special, I became curious about the tonal qualities of a standard flame top model with a stop tail. Again I bid for this one on eBay and landed a very good deal. I had a hefty case of buyer's remorse immediately after the purchase, but it promptly went away upon the guitar's arrival; the flame top is gorgeous--one that tends to command first-impression "wow" comments--and it plays awesome. At first viewing my brother, DT, called this one a "classic looking rock n' roll guitar." This Wolfgang has become one of my favorites to use in the recording studio because of its "leaping" harmonics, sustain, and overall stability. The nickname comes from the short-lived Joss Whedon television show Firefly, which in 2005 had a feature movie released based on the series.
