04/03/2007 @ 06:00 AM: This past Saturday night AT/DT played a loud-fun rock show at The Uptown, and later that same night I proposed to Devon, my girlfriend of more than four years. She said "yes" (or "sure," to be more specific), and we spent the better part of the next 24 hours calling one another "crazy," being ever-so-slightly freaked out, telling family and friends and, yes, we even went ring shopping.

So in the relative near future I'll have a new, different kind of band--a wedding band.

I'd been thinking about marriage for a good while, and it was in the back of my mind that a proposal would happen sometime in '07. Any and all previous plans went out the window when I got a sudden wash of emotion mixed with confidence, and the moment was just right.

So there you have it. I spent the first 36 or so hours slightly weirded out, but now that things have settled I'm feeling very good.
