05/29/2008 @ 07:48 AM: Last week I completed another custom guitar--basically a "use up some parts" project. It was intended to be a "cheapie" guitar I could use while teaching, in a situation where I'd rather not risk damage to one of my more expensive instruments, or something that I might eventually give away or sell. Still, this Sonic Blue "Alder" Strat is a decent player and sounds good. ("Alder" is in quotation marks because the Asian vendor I bought the body from labeled it as so, but I've never seen alder wood that is this soft or dark in color.) Pictures of this guitar in progress, along with my other guitar projects, can be found in the photos section of my MySpace page: www.myspace.com/andrewthomassolomusic. The parts list and photos are below!
