Serial Number: 1201127
Completed: April 2011
The AT Custom Candy Green Alder Strat was completed on April 4, 2011.
What happens when we have both an excessively cold winter in Minnesota and I in parallel find myself not exercising my creative energies enough in music? I build guitars. Lots of them. This winter saw the completion and near completion of several longstanding projects and a handful of new ones. This alder Strat was built for basically no other reason than I had most of the parts sitting around--a few left over from defunct projects and the body purchased through eBay months earlier. I needed pickups and hit the ol' eBay again to acquire a set of Fender Tex Mex single coils. The original plan was to go with chrome hardware (because that's what I had on hand), but upon placing the cream pearloid pickguard over the green body it seemed to just scream out for gold. The result is: a Strat. It sounds good. It plays well. If I decide I like the guitar enough I'll keep it around. If not, well then this might be the first guitar I've built--not for someone specifically--that gets sold.
Pictures of this guitar in progress, along with my other current and completed guitar projects, can be found on my Facebook page:www.facebook.com/GuitarSandwichParts
